Canada school district cancels speech by iSIS rape victim and Nobel prize winner due to fear of being killed

A woman who had been kidnapped and became a sexual slave at the hands of the Islamic State [ISIS] was scheduled to speak of her ordeal at a Canadian school district but the educators were too frightened that her revealing what happened to her, might cause them to be in danger. The excuse they gave was that they worried about "Islamophobia," or an irrational fear of the religion of Islam, which when taken literally, calls for death to Jews, gays, Gypsies, atheists, people who leave Islam, people who call out Muhammad for being a pedophile, and so on.

What is irrational about that?

After seeing how fearful American educators have been over the COVID situation, it should come as no surprise to see the same level of fear coming from Canadian educators when it comes to speaking an uncomfortable truth.

Of course, not all Muslims are terrorists, and not all terrorists are Muslims. But let's not pretend there isn't a problem with Islamic terrorism. Islamophobia is a term invented by Islamists to shut us up, just like the term "racist" is used for the same reason.

Nadia Murad, 28, was scheduled to visit with students from 600 different Canadian schools to speak about her upcoming book, "The Last Girl: My Story Of Captivity," which documents the horrific treatment she suffered from ISIS. But she was told by the highly nervous "educators" of the Toronto School District that she could not speak at the event because it might make terrorists even madder than they typically seem to be at non terrorists of the world. They claimed her speaking to students could "foster Islamophobia," or an irrational fear of terrorists. Hmm.

The cowardly decision to prevent students from being educated about terrorism was made by Helen Fisher the Toronto School Board Superintendent. She said the book could be viewed as offensive to Muslims.

Which Muslims would be offended? The Muslims girls who had been forced into childhood marriages they had no choice but to accept? Muslim boys who don't accept antiquated ways of sharia law--laws that prescribe cutting off the hands of thieves; or throwing gays from high places to their death; or hating Jews and Christians for being born into those religions; and a law that calls for the death of those who would leave the religion of Islam?

Fisher doesn't explain.

Ms. Murad's book details how she escaped the Islamic State after being kidnapped from her home and sold into sex slavery and was raped, beaten and tortured at age 14.

Nadia Murad won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018 and founded Nadia's Initiative, through which she is a leading advocate for survivors of sexual exploitation and genocide.

What descent Muslim would take offense to her for telling her story? What descent Muslim would defend what happened to her in an attempt to defend Islam?

What intelligent Muslim would think that the book is an attack on Islam as a religion rather than Islam practiced this way as a geopolitical movement?

At least one district parent, identifying herself as Tanya Lee,  criticized the cowardly school district for the fear of allowing this brave young woman to speak.

"This is what the Islamic State means. It is a terrorist organization. It has nothing to do with ordinary Muslims. The Toronto school board should be aware of the difference," Lee said.

Murad won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018 and founded Nadia's Initiative, through which she is a leading advocate for survivors of sexual exploitation and genocide.

Helen Fisher has never won the Nobel Peace Prize nor any prizes for bravery.
