| Whitmer's power smile |
The power of this petty tyrant is awesome, and it puts a smile on Whitmer's face.
GOP lawmakers had challenged her questionable extension that has no rhyme nor reason for imposing it on people, but the court has decided and we can kiss the U.S. Constitution goodbye.
Republicans in the House and Senate were frustrated with the oligarch's one-size, fear-based, unscientific and unproven strategy to stop the spread of the Chinese Communist Wuhan coronavirus by keeping people home and shutting businesses in regions minimally affected by the virus. She is acting as if every part of the state is like Detroit, the epicenter of the virus, and that's just stupid.
The legislature did not approve the extension of Whitmer’s emergency declaration but she enacted it anyway, extending the stay-at-home order until May 28 but loosening some restrictions. On May 18, Whitmer allowed retail businesses, bars and restaurants in two regions to open at a limited capacity. She has provided tiny calendars to the itsy-bitsy viruses so they will know when May 28 arrives, and they've promised to leave by that date.
And while gatherings are discouraged, groups of 10 or fewer will not be cited for gathering. Eleven, however, is unsafe because those teeny-weeny viruses have morphed and learned to count.
The judge said a 1945 law, cited by Whitmer, is not limited to local and regional emergencies only but can be used on a statewide level.
The governor will also be requiring all government staff to learn a salute that is to be displayed in her presence.
