A number of rockets fired by Iranian-backed militia hit Camp Taji, a base housing U.S. troops and other coalition forces. It was their response to our "proportional" response to their initial rocket attack. Tit-for-tat.
As it turned out, however, Iraq's military said the strikes killed five security forces and a civilian who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Wednesday's attack by Kataib Hezbollah was the deadliest to target U.S. troops in Iraq since a late December rocket attack on an Iraqi base.

There is no immediate word on casualties or damage as the beat goes on and on and on.
An official speaking to the media said more than a dozen rockets hit inside the base and some struck coalition living quarters and others hit a runway used by Iraqi forces.
Most attacks by Iranian-backed forces occur at night but this one was during daylight hours.
The initial attack on Camp Taji was on Wednesday night and this was met with a "proportional" response from the U.S. on weapons facilities belonging to Kataib Hezbollah, the scum-weasels thought to be responsible.
So they attempted to kill troops and we responded by attempting to break their war toys. Brilliant.

So here we go again as Iran-backed Shi'ite jihadi groups promised to exact revenge for our exacting revenge on Friday's U.S. strikes. I blogged about how stupid this kind of response is here.
