Rather than doing a "Barack Obama," President Trump authorized a military response. Multiple strikes by Coalition fighter aircraft targeted multiple bases used by Iranian-backed Shia jihadis believed to be involved with the rocket attack on Camp Taji.
The launch began after 1 a.m. Baghdad time on Thursday.
Stupidly on our part, the retaliatory strike was "proportional," according to a military source telling Fox News. It's stupid to use a "proportional" response because when a bully hits you once in the face, you don't do a proportional response by hitting him once in the face--you need to end his future intentions of taking your lunch money. You hit him as many times as it takes to show him the error of his ways so that he will never hit you again.
This isn't a game and Iran/Hezbollah isn't going to stop, especially with "proportional" responses. We need to send a clear message to the bully so he'll never do it again. We are the badasses on the block.
A U.S. military source told Fox News that we "do not want to escalate the conflict with Iran." No, we just want to extend it forever.
