BREAKING: Missiles strike Iraq base near US Embassy

Iraq -- Rockets hit a military base Saturday where U.S. troops are stationed. At the same time, mortars were fired at a high-security facility that houses the U.S. Embassy.

Reuters reported, “Several rockets fell on Saturday inside Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone, its Jadriya neighborhood, and the Balad air base housing U.S. troops.”

The Times of Israel reported that sources said that sirens “immediately rang out at the American compound in Baghdad hosting both diplomats and troops.”

No big surprises here.

There was no immediate word on who was responsible for the attacks or if there were any casualties, but you can have two guesses.

The attacks come two days after U.S. forces killed the terrorist Qasem Soleimani, who headed of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, which is a designated terrorist organization. All they could use to identify his body after two Hellfire missiles struck his vehicle was his ring.

Along with Soleimani, Iraqi paramilitary commander Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes was also set off on the road to Hades when a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone targeted the convoy that carried these to anal sphincters as they departed from Baghdad International Airport.

Mohandes headed Iranian-backed Popular Mobilization Forces and his loss will make a dent in their organization.

“An Iranian official says at least 35 U.S. targets have been identified for retaliatory strikes after the country’s president chillingly vowed to exact revenge for the killing of General Qassem Soleimani,” The Daily Mail reported on Saturday. “Targets include ships in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and Tel Aviv.” Because "if it ain't America's fault, blame it on the Joooze."

This seems to be an indication that Iran is not ready to go to all out war--a wise decision.
