Fourth down and this much |
In an interview with CNN, Biden spoke about his record regarding racial issues, and he hoped people would go light on him because his son died in 2015.
When asked why he didn't push back harder during the debate, Biden said that he wanted to try to avoid getting into that particular "scrum" with his fellow Democrat.
"I was prepared for them to come after me, but I wasn't prepared for the person coming at me the way she came at me," Biden told CNN's Chris Cuomo in an interview airing Friday, not mentioning the nasal-sounding Harris by name.
The former vice president stressed that he knows Harris well, although not as well as Willie Brown knows her, but that's a horse of a different color, and he even noted that she knew his deceased son. Her portrayal of his position on busing was unfairly taken "out of context," he suggested.

Actually, his position on busing was not a bad one to take as it turned out that the busing program was a total failure on many levels. But instead of saying that at the debate and the interview, he made excuses.
What Biden should have said at the debate was, "I stand behind my decision about busing and it proved to be the correct position. And my record on civil rights speaks for itself, but where do you stand on the busing issue now, Ms. Harris?"
But Joe isn't too quick on his feet.
When asked why he didn't push back harder during the debate, Biden said that he wanted to try to avoid getting into that particular "scrum" with his fellow Democrat.
Evidently, Joe doesn't realize that a debate is a scrum.
"What I didn't want to do is get in that scrum," he said. "Do you think the American public looked at that debate, take me out of it, and thought, boy, I really liked the way that's being conducted?"
The Democratic current front runner also sent a clear shot across the bow of the Harris campaign, suggesting that if she insists on continuing to go low, he might be forced to stop taking the high road, which for a Democrat, is an oxymoron.
"I get all this information about other people's past and what they've done and not done. And, you know, I am just not going to go there," Biden told comatose Cuomo. "If we keep doing that, that's, I mean, we should be debating what we do from here."
CNN notes that Harris campaign communications director Lily Adams put Biden's lack of preparation on him in an appearance on CNN's "New Day" Friday. She also attempted to take the personal aspect out of Harris' critique, describing it as "a very real disagreement" that she wanted to put "on the record" in the debate.

That's nonsense, of course, but it sounds good. Neither Harris nor Biden have a true sense of political integrity. They will say or do anything to get elected. If you don't believe that, wait until one of those Democrats wins the nomination and see how they move to the middle faster than an Antifa thug running from the cops.
Hands up, don't loot.
