Ted Cruz destroys Ilhan Omar over deleted tweet on immigration

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) did not allow Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) get away with a tweet she deleted that suggests that Hispanics aren't intelligent enough to qualify for a merit-based immigration system.

The Texas Senator went after Omar on Twitter Tuesday and said, “As the son of a Cuban immigrant whose Dad came to get a math degree & become a computer programmer, I’m troubled that Dems seem to believe Hispanic immigrants can’t qualify for skills-based legal immigration. Bringing in more scientists, engineers & doctors is good for US jobs." https://t.co/iugniZgJtL

Omar's tweet was posted Tuesday saying, “A “merit based” immigration policy is fueled by racism towards the Latinx community.”

She continued by asserting immigration policies shouldn't be based on “discrimination, fear, or bigotry,” which is, of course, a non sequitur.

The Daily Wire's Ryan Saavedra also got into the mix and tweeted:

Omar, a blatant anti-Semite,  faced immediate backlash  on social media with many across the political aisle. It was rightly pointed out that her tweet was racist and suggested Latino immigrants would be incapable of acclimating to a merit-based system.

Her tweet came in knee-jerk response to President Trump’s new immigration proposal which he unveiled earlier this month.

The president’s new system will secure the border completely, implement a merit-based immigration system, reform the asylum process, protect American workers, and increase diversity within American society, like most other developed nations do.
