President Trump tweets about Jussie Smollett

You knew he couldn't contain himself--Trump being Trump--he simply had to weigh in on the Jussie Smollett story on Thursday after the gay average actor was arrested on a felony charge of disorderly conduct for allegedly filing a false police report stating that he was attacked by a pair of white guys in MAGA hats and who yelled racist and homophobic slurs, punched him and threw a noose around his neck.

President Trump tweeted:
@JussieSmollett -- what about MAGA and the tens of millions of people insulted with your racist and dangerous comments!? #MAGA

No question Trump is absolutely correct--it was an insult to tens of millions of people, particularly white men, but should the President of the United States tweet about this kind of crap?

I think not. But if he's going to, it might have been a good opportunity to try bringing the nation together, not by forgiving Smollett--what he did was a despicable hate crime in my opinion--but by acknowledging that the country has elected a black president, the head of Chicago PD is a black gentleman, and while racism is still a problem in the country, the largest number of hate crimes being committed are anti-Semitic against Jews.

But the video below shows what really happened.

Enjoy the video.
