Alexandria Occasionally-Conscious-Cortex suggests taxing wealthy up to 70% but . . .

New York Democratic Socialist Rep. Alexandria Occasionally-Conscious-Cortex made the bold statement back in December on social media that lawmakers should refuse to get paid during the partial government shutdown. But she refuses to say if the same rule applies to her as the New York Post reports.

When she was asked Thursday about receiving her congressional salary, the braintrust for the Democratic Party apparently had other things on her mind, running down a Capitol Hill hallway and telling the reporter, “I’ve gotta run!”

The recently sworn-in socialist not from the Bronx tweeted:

It’s completely unacceptable that members of Congress can force a government shutdown on partisan lines & then have Congressional salaries exempt from that decision.

Cortez recently sat with a sobered-up Anderson Cooper for Sunday's "60 Minutes" interview, a portion of which has been released as a promotion.

In the released segment, she reveals how exactly she suggests paying for the environmental agenda known as the “Green New Deal” — with remarkably higher tax rates for the super wealthy.

The cute little genius suggests in the clip that people should be doing more to pay their “fair share.” The top earners in the country already pay over 80 percent of the taxes. What would fair be to her? 

When Cooper pressed on how she could possibly pay for the deal, she pointed to the progressive tax rate system in the 1960s, explaining that if you earn 0 to $75,000 a year, you would only pay 10% or 15% in income tax.

She rambled on:

“But once you get to the tippie tops, on your $10 millionth, sometimes you see tax rates as high as 60% or 70%. That doesn’t mean all $10 million are taxed at an extremely high rate. But it means that as you climb up this ladder, you should be contributing more,” she said, trying to explain a progressive tax system, which the United States has and is the only nation in the world that actually does. 

To impose an even greater tax burden on the "tippie top" is immoral. If you want to pay your "fair share," in my estimation, it would be that everyone should pay the same percentage rate and nobody is excluded. Everyone has "skin in the game."

Cooper replied that Occasionally-Conscious was proposing a “radical agenda.”

“If that’s what radical means, call me a radical,” she said.

If that's what it takes to be a radical cretin, then call her a radical cretin.

Well here we are in the start of a new year and the world still hasn't come to an end with President Trump in the White House, in spite of what the media and the left [but I repeat myself] would have you believe.
