Rep. Steve "I Haven't Read the Constitution" Cohen (Dummy-TN) wants to get rid of the Electoral College and doesn't know how to go about it. He introduced a bill that he believes can somehow abolish that which is contained in the Twelfth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, replacing the procedure originally provided in Article II, Section 1, Clause 3.
But the only way Rep. Stevie can get rid of the Electoral College is through an amendment to the U.S. Constitution. You can't just pass a bill. And if he tried to amend the Constitution, it would have to pass in the Senate, which is GOP land.
What's going on here--is he getting his factual information from Alexandria Occasionally-Coherent?
Cohen also wants to pass legislation that would prohibit presidents from pardoning themselves or their family members, especially those presidents who are referred to as "motherf***ers by freshmen congress members in front of their own kids.
Other leftist congress members are also going after President Trump, such as Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA). Sherm introduced "articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, filing them as his first order of business in the new, Democrat-controlled House of Representatives." He did this without being able to clearly elucidate what "crime(s) or misdemeanors" Trump committed. But it sounds like good political theater.
Democrats have for long wanted a way to get around the electoral college, because it prevents the country from being controlled by major population centers which are Democrat strongholds.
If this ever happened, the country would be controlled by the coastal states.
The person most concerned about this is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who is against putting workers out of work: "Who's going to wire homes if they abolish that school?" she asked.
Well here we are in the start of a new year and the world still hasn't come to an end with President Trump in the White House, in spite of what the media and the left [but I repeat myself] would have you believe.
