One has to wonder if the Democrats actually count on the fact that most of their supporters have short memories or are plain stupid.
Former President Barack Hussein Obama on Friday afternoon criticized President Trump's deployment of active-duty military personnel to the U.S.-Mexico border, calling it a "political stunt." Yes, Trump made a phone call to Honduras asking them to send thousands of migrants toward our border so he could stop them and look strong.
As Obama the socialist community organizer tried to organize, he was repeatedly heckled non-violently [unlike Antifa and other left wingers who do all they can to shut down free speech].
"They're telling you the existential threat to America is a bunch of poor refugees a thousand miles away," Obama said with a smile on his face and a chuckle in his lying throat, making reference to the caravan with an estimated 4,000 migrants hell-bent on illegally entering the U.S. and demanding their "rights."
"They're even taking our brave troops away from their families for a political stunt at the border," Obama added, obviously unaware that active duty military for the most part have already taken themselves away from their families to serve their country.
He tried to use guilt next: "The men and women of our military deserve better than that. So they're just constant fear mongering to distract from the record."
So let's look at the record of which he bloviates.
In a May 2010 article by the BBC , Obama was seeking $500 million in new funding to deploy 1,200 extra troops to help secure the U.S.-Mexico border. Just like the Trump administration suggested, the extra troops were to "provide intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance support for existing law enforcement officials . . ."
Earlier this week, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis made it crystal clear that the deployment is NOT part of a political stunt. "We don't do stunts in this department. Thank you," Mattis said.
Regarding the hecklers at Obama's rally, he told them, "Here's the deal. If you support the other candidates, then you should go support the other candidates. Don't be here. One of the things I never understood was why if you're supporting the other guy, you come to my rally. Go to their rally."
But of course, that only counts for Republicans interrupting Democratic rallies. Democrats are fine when it comes to Antifa and hecklers interrupting GOP events. Heck, they even interrupted the Kavanaugh hearings and the Democrats were just fine with that.
And here's the irony. When Trump got elected, Obama and the left was saying how he would ruin the economy and perhaps even the end of the world would draw nigh. But now Obama's trying to take the credit.
"Right now, Republicans are all, look, the economy is so good," Obama said. "Where do you think that started?"
Sorry Obama--you can't have it both ways.
Why don't you show some class, Obama, and retire from politics and enjoy your huge benefit package?
