The Certainly Not News (CNN) network says that the Trump government shutdown risks an undetected asteroid strike on the Planet Earth. That is, if there was no Trump government shutdown, we'd see the asteroid heading our way and would have time to kiss our kids and our butts 'goodbye.'
Now, according to "reporter" Tom Foreman, if an undetected asteroid hits us, you can blame it on President Trump because the Schumer Shutdown is actually his fault.
Everything bad is Trump's fault, and everything good is due to the effects of the Obama presidency.
"In space same year [2013], for more than two weeks, NASA reportedly stopped monitoring potentially dangerous asteroids. A big one, by the was, is expected to brush by Earth on February 4th," Foreman pontificated.
The hack acknowledged that most federal government services such as Social Security, the post office and air traffic control, would remain unaffected, but those asteroids . . . those damn asteroids.
Speaking to Jake Tapper, another CNN stooge, Foreman said the following:
Tapper: "It's not just the government workers, if the shutdown happens. It will have a real cascading effect on the economy."
Foreman: "Yeah, that's absolutely right. If there is no deal as these immigrants who came as children, the so-called DREAMers would be thrust into a dangerous legal limbo. Some 9 million children covered by Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). But plenty of other Americans who have nothing to do with any of that could also feel the impact."
But the impact of an asteroid, well that's something we'd want to know is about to happen, and with a Trump government shutdown we'd never see it coming before it destroyed life on Earth, like it did with the dinosaurs.
Of course shutting down the government sucks for some people, like the over 800,000 government workers who will be placed on furlough. The military, the only part of government that actually functions like a well-oiled machine, will have to wait for their pay, but they will remain on duty.
However, to blame Trump for the shutdown is nonsense. Everything the left wants is in the budget and DACA isn't even a real issue yet--not until March--if the planet survives.
Shutting down the government is only proving that the country doesn't need big government . . . the shutdown is a good thing, in a way.
