Aruba may be "One Happy Island" but St. Maarten, also in the Dutch Caribbean, is becoming a Syrian tourist destination--especially for Syrians who travel on forged passports.
Authorities have detained three Syrians traveling with fake Greek passports. They have been held since November 14th and have not asked for asylum, but in spite of the fact that they did not sport bathing suits, swim fins, or fishing gear, they were not believed to be terrorists of the non-Islamic kind.
The illegal Syrian travelers arrived in St. Maarten on Insel Air flight from Haiti, and although no further details were available, President Obama still swears he will veto any bill that makes it difficult for anyone of the Islamic faith to be kept from coming to the U.S. He also said that he feels "offended that any island, Caribbean or otherwise, should be named after a Christian saint, after the terrible things Christians did to Muslims during the Crusades."
He then shouted "Allahu Akbar!" as journalists ran for cover.
Just teasing . . . the journalists didn't run.
