Dontcha Worry Bout Nuthin, Mr. Obama

A big difference in the way Republicans and Democrats are perceived is how the media depicts them. If you think the media is totally fair and unbiased in these depictions, you might be a liberal.

When former Vice President, Dan Quayle misspelled the word "potato," the press made him out to be a cretin. If memory serves me correctly, even Saturday Night Live had a skit about that embarrassing moment and it is emblazoned in those of us who were witness to the event.

But this past Thursday, at a White House tribute  to "Women of Soul," President Obama introduced singer Aretha Franklin thus: "When Aretha first told us what R-S-P-E-C-T meant to her . . .  [the audience began laughing at this moment] . . . she had no idea it would become a rallying cry for African Americans and women and anyone else who felt marginalized because of what they looked like, who they loved. They wanted some respect."

Well, Mister Fifty Seven States, you don't have to worry 'bout nuthin. The media's got your back, unlike Dan Quayle, whose back they so easily slipped the knife into. By the way, did you know, Mr. President, that your friend, Jay Z, thinks he's spelling Jersey?
