Wendy Davis has a lot in common with Michelle Obama: they both cried poverty in order to win public sympathy and perhaps get an election to turn their way. With Michelle, it worked, with Wendy, probably not so much.
Back on September 5, 2012, Joel B. Pollack of Breitbart News wrote an interesting article (Fact Check: First Lady's Fairy Tale of Struggle) about the First Lady and how she lied to the American public to cast herself and Barack in a sympathetic light.
It seems that on September 4th, Michelle made a pitch to voters about how she and Barack understood their struggle to make ends meet. Barack had to drive a "rusted-out car," and he "found his furniture in a dumpster," she said. According to her, both families had to "scrape by." How sad.
Turns out she lied. Perhaps it was her lie that inspired Wendy Davis to lie about "scraping by" at age 19, living in a trailer, then working her way through Harvard Law School.
Turns out, Michelle's family was quite well off. She went to Whitney Young, a public magnet school for Chicago's upper class. Barack went to Punahou, a private prep school in Hawaii, also attended by the upper crusties. And although both Mooch and Barry had unexceptional grades, both went to Harvard Law. (Hey, maybe it's Harvard Law School that causes people to lie.)
In fact (they hate the word "fact"), both Mooch and Barry had expensive tastes. In 1993 they bought a $277,500 two-bedroom condo and then a few years later a $1.65 million "little place" in Hyde Park, with Tony Rezko's help.
But the worst tragedy suffered by Barack was when his credit card was once rejected. This was his 2008 campaign sob story. If this was a real hardship for him, he wouldn't know a real hardship if it bit him on his ears, and it tells more about who he really is.
When Barry became a US Senator who voted "present" on practically every issue, he got $1 million earmark for the University of Chicago Hospital where Michelle worked. Her job was pushing poor, uninsured patients out to other hospitals that actually would care for them. Her salary before the earmark was $121,910. After the earmark it soared to $316,962. The one thing Michelle Obama knew about the poor is that they didn't pay and therefore didn't count. But politics paid.
So here we have Wendy Davis, a liberal Democrat who believes in late-term abortion and filibustered about it late into the night, wearing pink running shoes. The media focused more on the shoes than in the content of the issues.
On her website, Davis states that she financed her education to Texas Christian University and Harvard Law School with scholarships and student loans. In fact, her second husband, Jeff Davis, financed it in part by cashing in his 401K and via other means. In fact, the day after the loan was paid off, Wendy Davis left him. But that's okay--he's 13 years her senior and was just a "sugar daddy."
Davis also claimed she divorced at age 19. In fact, she was 21. She said that she lived in a trailer while going to school. In fact, she lived in a trailer for about 3 months in total.
But the real problem isn't that Wendy Davis is a liar; the real problem is the media who will not honestly challenge her lies. MSNBC said the only reason conservatives "pounced" on the Wendy Davis story is because they hate her for "making life choices they disagree with--including the decision, as a mother, to prioritize her career." If by "prioritizing" her career would include aborting her unborn child so she doesn't have to be "burdened with a baby" like Obama said, then yes, conservatives would agree with that assessment. The New York Times didn't even cover the negative story.
Even so, the real reason for conservatives "pouncing" on Wendy Davis is because she has the same ethics and morals as many far left liberals--she would make any promise, break any vow, support any cause for votes, and tell any lie to get elected.
The liberal apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
