Nobody of good conscience should have anything to do with Qatar--they fund and harbor leaders of the terrorist group Hamas and that should be reason enough. But worse, Qatar paid universities nearly a billion dollars since 2021 and some of these former institutes of higher learning, have turned a blind eye to their staff who have taken the side of the terrorists who slaughtered Israeli civilians on October 7th.
Qatar is a small country with only 300,000 Muslims, but it's rich with oil money and it has it's oily fingers in global politics. The way it influences the narrative is by pouring money to American universities, their number one recipient of the bribes. [H/T The Daily Wire]
Between 2021 and April 2023, Qatar's funding totaled $842,000,000, outpacing interests in countries such as China, Germany, Japan, and England.
George Washington University is one of the institutions Qatar bribes.
This week, someone projected giant text on the wall of the school library of GWU saying “Glory to our martyrs,” “Free Palestine from the river to the sea,” and “Divestment from Zionist genocide now.”
The school president issued a morally anemic statement saying the “projections on the university’s library violated university policies,” but did not say whether it would divest from the $521,000 it took from Hamas’ benefactors since 2021. Can you guess what the school is going to do?
But there are way more universities getting funded by terrorist funding Qatar:
Money from Qatar since 2021Cornell University: $443 million
Texas A&M University: $182 million
Carnegie Mellon University: $150 million
Virginia Commonwealth University: $40 million
Georgetown University: $7 million
Bard College: $4.7 million
Harvard University: $4.5 million
George Mason University: $2 million
Stanford University: $1.8 million
This might help us understand how the students have been indoctrinated with anti-Israel, anti-Semitic hatred.
So as for me, I want nothing to do with Qatar, although that isn't going to bother them, but I believe it's time for all concerned citizens to communicate with their local congressmen and women, and tell them how you feel. And perhaps you parents who have college-ready kids think twice about sending them to any of these "schools."
