Son of WW2 Nazi who called some Americans 'schmucks' loses a corporate sponsor

Arnold Schmuckenegger

Former bodybuilder and Governor of California, Arnold Schwartzenegger ranted in public about Americans who have misgivings about wearing face masks that have not been proven effective in preventing the spread of coronavirus. In fact, some studies show that cloth masks are worse than useless as they can cause problems for the users.

The son of a World War 2 Nazi called those Americans 'schmucks,' which, when you think about it, is a pretty schmucky thing to say about millions of people.

According to Fox News, Schwartzenegger has lost a sponsor for his annual bodybuilding event, the Arnold Classic, named after the schmuck with the atrophying muscles. The loss comes a week after he called mask-averse Americans "schmucks" and said, "screw your freedom," to those seeking to terminate COVID-19 mandates.

Screw your freedom? Is he really that much of a schmuck to think that would go over well with Americans?

In a statement to the outlet on Friday, REDCON1, a sports nutrition brand, confirmed they've pulled out from Schwarzenegger's event as well as any others he's involved in.

I go to the gym. I will now look for that brand and buy it.

"To be clear we did not pull out of the event because of a mask issue. We understand the importance of public safety as well as the responsibilities all event organizers. These are unprecedented times and we’re aligned with public safety for all. We elected to discontinue support due to Arnold’s comment, ‘Screw Your Freedoms,’" a spokesperson for REDCON1 said.

"With the global influence Arnold personally possesses we find that ideology dangerous and anti-American," the company continued.

"REDCON1 is a patriotic pro-freedom brand rooted in the uncompromising unapologetic belief that you, as an American, are entitled to your freedoms and opinion and should not be insulted or persecuted for having a varying view. We support everyone's individual freedoms," the statement concludes.

The REDCON1 founder, Aaron Singerman, voiced disappointment in Schwartzenegger's comments on his personal Instagram.

So while Arnold says "screw your freedom," he has screwed the pooch.
