Times Square shooter identified: he was only trying to shoot his brother

The New York Post reports that law enforcement has identified a person of interest in Saturday night's Time Square shooting that wounded three people, one of whom was a 4-year-old girl.

It happened at 1515 Broadway at 44th Street and Seventh Avenue, in Midtown Manhattan just before 5 p.m.

[Fun Fact: I worked in that building years ago.]

The incident began from an argument between the person of interest and his brother.

A manhunt is currently underway for 31-year-old Farrakhan Muhammad, the alleged gunman. He is an unlicensed vendor who works in the area and you can bet the gun he allegedly used was also illegal.

Three unrelated people were injured from the gunfire: Wendy Magrinat, a 23-year-old Rhode Island resident shot in the leg, a 43-year-old woman from New Jersey in the left foot, and a 4-year-old girl from Brooklyn was shot in the leg. They were taken to Bellevue Hospital and all are expected to survive, Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said.

Incidents involving violent people with guns increased by 166% in NY City.

Useless Mayor Comrade Bill de Blasio brilliantly called the shooting "senseless violence" and promised that those responsible would be brought to justice. "The flood of illegal guns into our city must stop," the mayor said, stating the obvious on Twitter.

Thankfully, de Blasio cannot run for mayor again as this is his final term.
