Socialism owes its existence to capitalism [aka the free market]. Socialism is the politics of envy, of people wanting what you worked for and the power that goes with a government that makes all the big decisions for you.
Sen. Bernard Sanders (Independent Commie-VT) claimed that Amazon, the giant e-commerce company founded by Jeff Bezos, have dangerous working conditions and that workers are "risking their lives" to fill holiday orders while being denied benefits.
Comrade Sanders, who is originally from Brooklyn, NY and sounds like it, was a former presidential candidate and a member of an Israeli kibbutz until he was booted out for not working. Also, he has never personally run a company or hired an employee, but he did write bizarre pornographic fiction as a young man.
Sanders told his horde of impressionable, leftist Twitter followers (who know less about economics than ducks know about the theory of relativity) that Amazon workers are toiling under risky conditions and are susceptible to the coronavirus while being denied sick leave and hazard pay.
Additionally, the leftist senator from "Vahmont" claimed that Bezos, the wealthiest guy on the planet, became $83 billion richer during the pandemic and his company "made record profits," as if that's a bad thing. Bezos currently has a fortune of $187 billion and counting.
Amazon called out Sanders on his accusation.
"Everyone [at Amazon] makes at least $15/hr *double the federal minimum wage* and we’ve created more than 275,000 new jobs in the US since the pandemic began," Amazon's policy team replied to Sanders via Twitter.
Amazon also straightened out the self-declared socialist explaining that it has provided paid sick leave and comprehensive benefits for all its full-time employees, equivalent to the benefits its "most senior executives get."

While Democrats have mandated shutdowns in cities and states, and much of the other nations in the world have taken actions to slow the spread of the pandemic, Amazon was able to assuage the needs of people needing items, including food products, that they provided. Of course they made a lot of money--that's because people needed and still need what they provide.
But whenever a businessperson makes a lot of money, it translates by the socialists as corporate greed.
Like the Hon. Rep. Alexandria Obviously-Commie (Dunce-NY), and others who have never in any way contributed to the job market, Sanders hates Amazon and all successful corporations.
In 2020 alone, Amazon has increased its employees by 1,400 workers per day! In 2017, the company announced that it was ready to add one of its headquarters in Queens, NY, where AOC supposedly represents the people. But she badmouthed the company so badly they decided to look elsewhere to set up shop. New York City lost about 25,000 jobs paying an average of $100,000 annually and a slew of other jobs. Their HQ2 as it was known, located to Virginia instead.
Yes, there have been employee complaints and there have been small demonstrations by workers fearful of getting the virus.
At the start of this month, protesters demonstrated outside Amazon's chief executive's Fifth Avenue residence calling for stricter workplace safety standards and asked lawmakers to pass the New York Health and Essential Rights Act, [aka NY HERO Act] to implement minimum standards for workplace safety.
Amazon called some of the claims a "series of misleading assertions by misinformed or self-interested groups who are using Amazon’s profile to further their individual causes."

The company released a full state-by-state chart of covid case rates among its frontline workers in a November blog post, along with plans to significantly increase daily tests in an effort to keep frontline employees safe.
Infections were 42% lower than Amazon's earlier estimate of 33,952 cases, the company said at the time, a figure based on infection rates among the general population.
Amazon also explained that it has made over 150 process updates, including enhanced cleaning and social distancing measures, distribution of personal protective gear and temperature checks across its global operations.

Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders is still a useless communist.
