More than 200 anarchists faced off with about two dozen Portland police after the department declared the riot there a riot and demanded the crowd disperse.
The death of George Floyd triggered a wave of violence and mayhem, but it was mostly peaceful as store windows were broken, businesses set on fire, bystanders and police beaten or had objects thrown at them, but overall, it was peaceful.
The rioters are demanding justice, and if they get their way, they will be arrested for destroying private property--that would be justice.
They cry out against what they label racial injustice and police brutality, but they cannot point to serious examples of the former, as things in this country have dramatically changed since 1960, and with the latter, the statistics show that, in fact, while blacks commit well above their national demographics in violent crimes across the nation, they are more likely to kill a cop than the other way around.
In fact, last year there were only 9 deaths caused by police to unarmed black men. That doesn't mean the unarmed men weren't dangerous and putting the police officer's life in danger, but think of it--only 9 versus over 20 in cases of unarmed white men being shot and killed by police. This is not to dismiss actual police brutality, but it not at all the so-called "systemic" problem BLM would have you believe.
In Portland, Oregon's largest city, those demonstrations have raged for six weeks straight, and local businesses have reported $23 million in losses due to the looting and rioting in its downtown area since the end of May.
Over the weekend, a federal officer protecting a closed courthouse was struck in the head and shoulder with a hammer as protesters attempted to break down the court’s door.

Jacob Michael Gaines: his happy face |
The courthouse suffered an estimated $50,000 in damages, according to KGW.
Jacob Michael Gaines, 23, of Texas, was arrested for the assault on the officer. Of course, Gaines is a white virtue signaling socialist. He should be made to pay for the damages after serving significant time in prison.

Amid the unrest, federal officers were called into the city to protect additional federal properties.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, in early July, deployed more than a half-dozen law enforcement agencies and departments, with officers from the U.S. Marshalls, the Federal Protective Service and U.S. Customs and Border Protection rotating protection services throughout the city.
The violence doesn't seem to have a foreseeable ending. It isn't obvious who is responsible for helping organize and supply these scumwafers, but George Soros is one name that comes to mind. The rioters' new focus seems to be federal property.
Local officials have criticized federal law enforcement and of course, President Trump for the riots and their inability to stop them.
Meanwhile, one group of anti-capitalist, anti-fascist teens who call themselves the Pacific Northwest Youth Liberation Front has used social media to organize throughout the city.
The Seattle Times reported the group uses social media to promote rallies and riots, provide rioters with tactical advice and offer commentary on the gatherings that have led to clashes with police. Its goal is to upend the U.S. political system and make the country look like their rooms in the basement.
Early Tuesday morning, the Portland Police Department – which is banned by a temporary federal court order from using tear gas unless they declare a riot – took to Twitter to declare the situation a riot scenario outside the city’s police union headquarters.

The city’s police bureau has declared a riot multiple times before federal officers showed up to assist.
The department warned those who refused to disperse would be subject to arrest, tear gas or impact weapons. It posted images of the objects thrown at officers – including paint, ball bearings, and glass bottles.

Last week, the idiot Deputy Police Chief Chris Davis said an “agitator corps” of violent protesters were responsible for the vandalism and chaos in the city – which has been ready to reopen for weeks after the coronavirus pandemic lockdowns.
Davis pledged support for the anti-police, anti-Semitic Black Lives Matter movement and its alleged nonviolent protests, and condemned the separate make-believe group of dangerous and sophisticated vandals causing the “mayhem.”
“There’s a very big difference between protests and the kind of mayhem that we see every night,” the uber liberal said. “You’re going to hear me make a lot of effort not to refer to what we’re talking about here as protests because protests and this are two different things.”
He said last week that more than 100 people – both city employees and the public – have sustained injuries throughout the demonstrations. And the fact that Davis calls these events "demonstrations" tells you all you need to know.
Ted Wheeler, the Democrat Mayor of Portland, accused President Trump on Monday of escalating the situation in his city with his “heavy-handed tactics” which “led to a serious injury and enflamed an already tense situation.”

But he did not mention the heavy-handed tactics the rioters used when they destroyed businesses and hurt people.
You get the feeling that if Trump blasted Adolf Hitler, the left would remind us that Adolf loved his dog, was an inspiring speaker, and a devout vegetarian.
