Apparently it takes five rocket attacks fired upon Israel by Hamas for the IDF to retaliate. Maybe they are worried about bad press for defending themselves, but you have to give them kudos for their patience.
The Hamas rocket attack coming from the Gaza Strip came on Friday night, the start of the Jewish Shabbat or sabbath. An IDF tank shelled a Hamas outpost north of Beit Hanoun according to Gazan reports.
The rockets were fired after two Gazans were killed and 76 protesters injured during the Friday Great March of Return, which was first started March 30, 2018. It was launched at the Gaza Strip near the Gaza-Israeli border. Protesters demanded that so-called Palestinian refugees and all of their descendants be allowed to return to the Jewish state known for thousands of years as Israel.
They were also protesting the blockade of the Gaza Strip as it made it more difficult to transport rockets and other weapons to be smuggled into Israel for later use, which was also the inspiration of Hamas terror tunnels.
That protest resulted in one of the deadliest days since the 2014 Gaza War. It was initiated by independent activists, supported by Hamas and other major anti-Zionist terrorist groups in Gaza. It was originally planned to only last from March 30 [Land Day] to May 15 [Nakba Day] but with all the violence and death, how could anyone stop the party? About 30,000 'Palestinians' took part in the protest.
This year's protest is also very violent which comes as no surprise. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Hamas on Saturday that Israel will not take the violence sitting down. They will respond forcefully to any attempt to harm its citizens and soldiers.
“Hamas is responsible for all aggression emanating from the Gaza Strip. Any attempt to harm our citizens and our soldiers will be met with a forceful response,” Netanyahu said in a statement.
The time for patience has passed.
