It isn't easy putting your foot in your mouth when you're Linda Sarsour, when you're wearing a tight hijab which tends to hold your head back and you can't bend low enough to get all the toes inside that cavernous hole of hate. But if you are Linda Sarsour, you're too stupid to stop trying because eventually, you'll have the entire foot right up to your ankle because you realize you're not going to be successful.
Sarsour is one of the best-known anti-Semites and a sharia-apologist aside from some members of the Democratic Party. She simply cannot stop slinging anti-Semitic canards and spits them out as if they were her most natural response whenever she's challenged.
Sarsour recently defended Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar’s post-campaign announcement that she supports the Boycott, Divestment Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, which, by definition is anti-Semitic, but she was smart enough to wait until she was elected and it was too late to do anything about her bile.
So, not surprisingly, Omar came out against BDS during her campaign, but couldn't help herself and stood by her previous disgustingly rabid anti-Israel statements. (Those statements employed tried and true historical anti-Semitic tropes as well.)
Sarsour posted her support for her fellow anti-Semite on Facebook and jumped to her defense over her "being attacked for saying that she supports BDS (Boycott Divestment Sanctions) and the right for people to engage in constitutionally protected freedoms. This is not only coming from the right-wing but some folks who masquerade as progressives but always choose their allegiance to Israel over their commitment to democracy and free speech.”
That last statement is the well-known “dual-loyalty slur” that has been a go-to trope among seasoned anti-Semites for decades.
Why is it so suckworthy?
The U.S. along with 31 other nations are members of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) and all have adopted the organization’s definition of anti-Semitism, part of which includes "accusing Jewish citizens of being more loyal to Israel, or to the alleged priorities of Jews worldwide, than to the interests of their own nations.”
The BDS movement itself falls under the IHRA’s definition of anti-Semitism by “applying double standards by requiring of [Israel] a behavior not expected or demanded of any other democratic nation.”
Sarsour's time has come for her to pay politically for her blatant bigotry.
