Cory Booker a Democrat who also goes by the name "Spartacus," called the now apparent make believe attack on "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett [pronounced "Smell It" because his story does] "an attempted modern day lynching" when the tale was first reported on January 29. Booker, a 2020 hopeful to win his socialist party's nomination, was sure the story was true because it fit his narrative that all Trump supporters are racist, homophobes and Islamophobes.
The leftist media jumped all over the story with a rush to judgment without any corroboration or questioning the information Smollett gave.
"I’m gonna withhold until all the information actually comes out from on-the-record sources," the New Jersey senator said after meeting with voters in Rochester, N.H. "We know in America that bigoted and biased attacks are on the rise in a serious way, and we actually even know in this country that since 9/11, the majority of the terrorist attacks on our soil have been right-wing terrorist attacks -- the majority of them white supremacist attacks."
Except that this wasn't one of those attacks, and the biggest group of victims of biased hate crimes are the Jews, but since they are a successful group in the U.S. and are supposedly privileged in no part due to their hard work academically as part of their culture, anti-Semitic attacks are usually only covered if the attack is by a white supremacist.
Booker cited the deadly shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue this past October as well as the June 2015 shooting at a historically black church in Charleston, S.C. because it was done by a white supremacist.
Smollett, is a black, openly gay actor, who claimed he was attacked by two masked men at 2 a.m. on Jan. 29 as he walked to his Chicago apartment from a Subway restaurant. and bought a sandwich.

The actor alleged the men fought with him, shouted racial and anti-gay slurs, put a rope around his neck, threw bleach on him. Then they stopped for some reason and left the scene. So Smollett picked himself up, dusted himself off, and went to his apartment with his sandwich still intact and the rope still wrapped around his neck and waited forty minutes before calling the cops.
Hours after reports of the attack surfaced, Booker tweeted: "The vicious attack on actor Jussie Smollett was an attempted modern-day lynching. I'm glad he's safe."
Booker also advocated for the passage of legislation making lynching a federal hate crime because as Spartacus, he wants to be president of the United States.
