Yasmin Seweid (pronounced "Yes Man, Seaweed") is a 19-year-old Muslim, a college student and liar who attends Baruch College, in Manhattan.
On Friday, Yasmin pleaded guilty to falsely reporting an incident and disorderly conduct. She lied to the police, telling them she had been harassed on the New York City subway by white men.
Seweid claimed the incident took place on the Number 6 train on December 1, 2016. She told The New York Daily News that three drunk men screamed "Donald Trump!" and made anti-Islam slurs at her and even tried to rip off her hijab from her head.
"I heard them say something very loudly, something about Donald Trump . . . I also heard them say the word 'terrorist' and I sort of got a little scared," she said. She then added that they said, "Oh look, a (expletive) terrorist . . . Get the hell out of the country! You don't belong here!"
Then when she tried to ignore them, they pulled on her bag to get her attention and the strap broke. 'That's when I turned around and said 'can you please leave me alone', and they started laughing."
She then alleged that she walked to the other end of the platform and they followed her and tried to pull off her hijab, (a Muslim headscarf that keeps Muslim men from raping women). She claimed they yelled, "Take that thing off!"
She then lied more and said, "I put my hand on top of my head to hold it. Then I turned around and screamed 'what the (expletive, but you can guess--it starts with an 'f').'"
Seweid then took a swipe at then- President-elect Trump. "The president-elect just promotes this stuff and is very anti-Muslim, very Islamophobic, and he's just condoning it." She offered no evidence for her claims.
Seweid's father, when told of the fake incident, said, "Nobody even offered to help an 18-year-old girl. That means something [for instance, it means in a liberal town like New York City, liberals did not come to her aid]. Her phone was dying. You offer help--it doesn't matter the race, religion, or the country."
Too bad Muslims don't feel that way themselves. All of their alms, all of their charity, only goes to Muslims and terrorist organizations.
A few days after the publicity, Seweid went missing, which prompted a search for her.
She was arrested on December 14th on charges of filing a false report and obstructing governmental administration. Police sources said she lied because she didn't want to get in trouble for breaking her curfew after being out late drinking with friends, [because it's un-Islamic and could get a young girl honor-killed by the same father who was angry that nobody came to her aid].
The young Muslima wrote an apology that was read in court by the prosecutor: "I was stupid. I plan to continue to find ways to better myself." She had already admitted she wasted police resources when she lied.
Seiweid is ordered to take only six months of counseling and complete three long, hot, and hard days of community service [probably removing bubble gum from park benches].
I wonder if she felt she was right in blaming Trump for the actions of her imaginary Islamophobes.
