Students at Panty Waist High School in Tabbyville, Texas who won the honor to wear National Honor Society stoles at graduation were told by the school that to wear such an honor would cause the less hard-working, less intelligent students to feel sad. "And that isn't nice," said principal Chris Schmuckbuckle.
A National Honor Society sponsor told one of the parents that school administrators do not want to single out the smarter, more hard-working students.
"They deserve it," one parent told the media. "They worked their gonads off for it, night after night, hitting the books, burning the midnight oil, at the end of the day. I didn't get to wear the NHS stole when I graduated from Hud Knox High back in the day, but some of my friends did, and I didn't have a problem with it. I was perfectly okay and happy for them."
Members of the Panty Waist track team, a team that won the state potato-race championship, and went on to win the national championship, were not given special recognition either. "If you get a trophy," Schmuckbuckle said, "everyone needs to get a trophy."
Some of the kids want to start a petition or speak with Schmuckbuckle to change his thinking on the matter, but the principle is known to never listen to reason and is a smug jerk.
"It's kind of a national thing that's recognized," one student said, "and I don't know why the schmuck can't recognize it."
