Hamas's Mashaal Warns Latest Fighting Isn't the Last We've Seen

Khaled Mashaal head of Hamas, said on Thursday, "We will not restrict our dreams or make compromises to our demands," and added that reconstructing Gaza is the duty of the Palestinian national consensus government and the free world. (He sounds a bit like a socialist putting the burden of rebuilding on others.)

Mashaal (pronounced Mohammed) speaking in Doha, said that the latest round of trying to kill Israeli women, children and the slow-to-get-to-cover-elderly would not be the end of conflict but a "milestone to reaching our objective." That objective, he did not verbalize, is to overtake all of Israel, kill all the Jews, and establish yet another Islamic caliphate. He said, " . . . we know that Israel is strong and is aided by the international community. We will not restrict our dreams or make compromises to our demands," he said, taking Obama's strategy when working both sides of the aisle.

Then he did what Islam has done since Mohammed was having sex with his 9 year old wife: he put the blame on the victim. "This war was forced upon us," but added that it was an "important station on the way to liberation."

Yes, Israel forced the war upon Hamas when they let 3 teens get kidnapped and killed and Hamas fired rockets into Israel's civilian population. "Those damn Israelis just refuse to let us kill them," he might have said.

There were tears in the eyes of most Western college professors and their malleable students as Mashaal claimed victim-hood. Islam does that a lot. It reminds me of an abusive male blaming his partner, "Don't make me come over there and smack the crap out of you."

But the real victims were and still are the Gazans who were used as human shields by Hamas. And Israel did more than any other nation in history to warn about impending strikes and then target carefully in order to minimize civilian casualties.

"The war has brought Palestinians closer to Jerusalem, the Aqsa Mosque and our holy sites," the terrorist leader said. (Never mind that the original holy sites go back to the Old and New Testaments both preceding Islam by countless years.)

"Every Palestinian in Gaza and every Palestinian in the world are partners in this victory," he proclaimed after he and his cohort Hamashats got handed their butts by the Israelis. Mashaal failed to qualify where the country of Palestine is and when did it first exist in history. He did not speak in Palestinian, by the way, since there is no Palestinian language, no flag and no actual country.
