Goodluck, John, and Barry: the hunt for the 276 victims in Nigeria

Goodluck Jonathan, Nigeria's President (not to be confused with Badluck Benjamin of Egyptian fame) met with security officials of the school and state over his concerns regarding the 276 young girls who were kidnapped by Boko Haram.

Boko Haram is an Islamic group whose name means "Western education is bad," and they don't take well to kids actually learning things outside the Koran, Islamic scripture written in the Seventh Century. The word "boko" literally means book and "haram" is the Jewish equivalent of "non-kosher," but you better not tell them that--they have a thing about Jews.

The Koran is supposed to be the perfect book, in spite of all the mistakes in it, but I cannot talk about that topic without risking certain death at the hands of my neighbor. (I know this because his wife wears a niqab, which is a veil that covers her entire face except her eyes. Muslim women do this because it keeps Muslim men from raping them or forcing their husband to give them a charity beating.) He seems like a nice, quiet guy, smokes a lot on the porch, wears jeans, washes his car regularly, but I know I'm screwed if he finds out about the novel I wrote (see below if you're interested).

Anyway, Goodluck Jonathan seems to be doing all he can to find these poor girls. It is unknown if they were killed or taken as slaves or wives--in the latter two cases, they are almost synonymous. Our very own Secretary of State, John Swiftboat Kerry vows to help find those girls.

"The kidnapping of hundreds of children by Boko Haram is an unconscionable crime," Kerry told the Washington Post on Saturday, adding, "We will do everything possible to support the Nigerian government to return these young women to their homes and hold the perpetrators to justice."

The kidnapping on April 14th was preceeded by a huge explosion several hour earlier in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria. The blast killed 75 and it spread fear that the Islamic jihad is alive and well. Ya think?

Kerry wasn't specific about how he thinks we could help Nigeria in the hunt for these orthodox Muslims, aka Boko Haram, but I put as much faith in him as I do for his boss who, as I write this, is busy hunting down those terrorists responsible for the Benghazi attack that killed our ambassador and three other brave men. And who pledged to get to the bottom of the IRS scandal. And who swore to get those guys who killed Border Agent, Brian Terry, in the Fast and Furious scandal.

But in order for Kerry and Obama to get these messes under control, the government may need to assign numbers to them so they don't get them mixed up.

There is nothing funny about this latest kidnapping by Islamic jihadists, but I certainly don't trust our government to do much to stop these trends. When we can all agree here in the West that Islam's goal is to establish a world caliphate, that is, to make the world entirely Muslim, then we might be able to stop the militant spread of Islam. When we call it "workplace violence" and ignore the truth, we are as vulnerable and as stupid as the proverbial ostrich.

In my latest novel, a New York reporter is taken hostage by terrorists. If POTUS refuses to release 3 Gitmo jihadists, the reporter will die in 24 hours—they will behead him and show it on the Internet. There is only one way out but the clock is ticking . . .
