BREAKING: Bill Clinton hospitalized after developing a fever

Former President Bill Clinton was admitted to a Washington, D.C., hospital Monday afternoon for testing and observation after developing a fever, according to his spokesman.

"The president is fine," Angel Urena, Clinton's deputy chief of staff, told CNN. He [yes, Angel is a dude] added that the former president is hopeful to be home by Christmas. "He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving."

Clinton, who is 78, was at his home in Washington when he was transported to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. He is expected to stay overnight at least, with an aide describing him as "awake and alert," head and shoulders over Joe Biden who is practically comatose and vegetative.

News of Clinton's hospitalization just before Christmas spread quickly among his extensive network of former colleagues. A longtime associate described his condition as "not urgent or dire by any means."

Since leaving office nearly 25 years ago, the 42nd president has faced several health issues. In 2004, he underwent quadruple bypass heart surgery in New York, followed by a partially collapsed lung the next year. In 2010, he had another heart procedure where two stents were placed in a coronary artery. In 2021, he was hospitalized in Los Angeles for six days due to a urological infection that had spread to his bloodstream.

Clinton was actively involved in the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August and maintained a vigorous campaign schedule this fall. Post-election, he continued his busy travel schedule with the launch of his book, "Citizen: My Life After the White House."

There's mention in posts on X about this hospitalization, indicating he was alert and talking, further describing it as not an urgent situation. Meanwhile, Joe Biden continues to wilt like a water-starved chia pet left in a car on a hot summer day in Florida.

Historically, Clinton has been hospitalized for health issues, including in 2021 when he was treated for a urological infection that developed into sepsis, and he has had previous heart surgeries and procedures. However, the current hospitalization is related to a fever, not those previous conditions.

Our thoughts go out to him and his many loved ones . . . once I can figure out how to get a thought to go out.
