Black church group retracts call for Sharptongue's suspension over covert donations from Harris' campaign

A coalition of Black churches is retracting its demand for MSNBC to suspend and investigate the anti-Semitic race-baiter and very very Reverend Al Sharptongue after his nonprofit received $500,000 from Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign. It is not known whether the very extreme Reverend  strong-armed the Black churches with threats, but that cannot be ruled out as yet.

Just a week after criticizing Sharptongue, saying his actions put a "moral stain on the integrity of the Black Church," the National Black Church Initiative (NBCI) took back their words, calling their initial statement "inappropriate" and admitting they made a "misstep," as sweat poured down faces and bodies shook.

The Washington Free Beacon reported that the Harris campaign gave two $250,000 donations to Sharptongue's National Action Network on Sept. 5 and Oct. 1. These donations occurred before the super Reverend did a friendly interview with Kamala Hahaharris on Oct. 20.

In a statement posted on their Facebook page last Tuesday, the NBCI had slammed Sharptongue, highlighting "significant moral and journalism ethics" concerns due to the payment. They claimed to represent 150,000 churches nationwide and said they would "support Rev. Sharpton[gue's]'s suspension" until a full investigation was done.

However, on Monday, the initiative changed its tune, explaining that they were "unaware of the existing contract or agreement with Black organizations including the highly Reverend Sharptongue's National Action Network to conduct non-partisan Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts ahead of the election."

"We recognize the critical importance of this work. After further research, we have found no evidence that any candidate paid for support or endorsements, nor that NBC was engaged in any partisan political activities related to Vice President Ha[haha]rris' appearance on PoliticsNation. Furthermore, we understand that Vice President Ha[haha]rris has made previous appearances on PoliticsNation with the mostly Reverend Al Sharpton[gue] over the years," the statement continued.

The NBCI did not reply to emails asking about this change in position. MSNBC, Sharptongue, and the National Action Network also didn't respond to requests for comments on Tuesday.

MSNBC had previously suspended Joe Scarborough and the Wild and Whacky Keith Olbermann in 2010 for making political donations. When this issue with Sharpton's nonprofit came up, MSNBC mentioned to the Free Beacon that they were "unaware of the donations" but didn't clarify whether Sharptongue faced any consequences.
