Trump rally hushed when he mocks DeSantis

Eleventh Commandment: Thou shalt not speak ill of another Republican --Ronald Reagan
Waco, Texas -- Former President Trump had a huge crowd at the Waco, Texas rally on Saturday. They loved seeing him up on the podium again and believe he'll win the nomination and then win back the presidency. They cheered loudly and enthusiastically.

But then he took aim at Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis and his words were met with little response from the throng in attendance.

DeSantis has yet to declare his candidacy in the 2024 race, but it's widely believed that he will, in fact, go for it.

Trump argued that DeSantis owed his governorship to his endorsement and would have lost without it. Then he began an impersonation of DeSantis allegedly begging him for his support in the 2018 state's primary.

During his Saturday campaign event in Waco, Texas, on Saturday, Trump argued that DeSantis had little chance of becoming Florida's governor without the former president's endorsement, with Trump breaking into a pejorative impersonation of DeSantis allegedly begging him for his support in the state's 2018 Republican primary.

"So, he came, and he really wanted [my endorsement]. I said, ‘You can’t win, can you? How do you – can [you] win?'" Trump said, recalling the alleged conversation with DeSantis. "‘Sir, if you endorse me, I’ll win. Please, please, sir, endorse me,'" Trump continued as he acted out in a crying, pleading voice that didn't ring true about DeSantis.

It's noteworthy that in past Trump rallies, whenever he went after his opponents the crowd would loudly support him, but not so this time. Of course, some in the crowd laughed or clapped as Trump kept going after DeSantis, but there didn't appear to be the same enthusiasm to cheer the attack of the governor as there had been with others by Trump in the past.

DeSantis graduated from Yale in 2001, magna cum laude, and Harvard Law School in 2005 with a Juris Doctor cum laude. In 2004, while at Harvard, he was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy and assigned to the Navy Judge Advocate General's Corp (JAG) and completed Naval Justice School in 2005.

Donald Trump graduated from the Wharton School with a BS in Economics in 1968. He has never disclosed his academic performance so if he received any honors, he is being humble about it.

As it stands, DeSantis, while not yet declared, stands to be Trump's biggest rival in the GOP field, after having won re-election in Florida by a landslide without the help of former President Trump.

DeSantis has not taken Trump's bait and has not gone toe-to-toe with him.
