Speaking on behalf of the Creator of the Universe, Bette Midler didn't let a crisis go to waste. She attacked Texas GOP Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn using the blistering cold winter storm in their state to claim that God is using the weather to punish them. She did not say whether the same motive was used by the Lord to punish at least 35 souls who perished in eight states along with the millions left in the cold without power to heat their homes.
The actress implied that Winter Storm Uri is "payback" for both senators for their questioning of President Joseph Robinette Biden's win in the 2020 election.
Midler was responding to Twitter hater who called Cruz and Cornyn "inept" for requesting disaster relief for the Lone Star State while they both voted against federal aid for Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
They voted against a relief package because it included "billions in unrelated spending," including money for "things like repairing fisheries in the Pacific" and "Smithsonian repairs."
Midler argued that "inept" was the "wrong word" to characterize the Republican senators. Instead, she described the GOP senators as "hateful," "vicious," and "cruel," movie roles for which she was often typecast.
"I feel for the people suffering thru this weather, but #God doesn't seem to like #TedCruz or #JohnCornyn," Midler tweeted. "These two also never recognized that #Joe won. If this isn't payback, I don't know what is."

Midler evidently misses the point. It isn't in question that Biden won the election. What's in question is the system by which he won. Republicans are not saying Trump won; they're saying the election system is flawed and corrupt and it should be viewed as a bipartisan issue.
Sen. Cornyn acknowledged Biden as "president-elect on Dec. 9, thus not objecting to the certification of the Electoral College votes. And Sen. Cruz called for a commission to conduct an audit of the election to determine what needs to happen in future elections to hold the public's trust.
Speaking once again for God, Midler was yet another noted leftists who viciously celebrated the death of broadcasting legend Rush Limbaugh. Rather than having grace or decency, she hinted that Rush is in hell after dying from cancer on Wednesday.
See, the left only pretends to want unification of the nation and Midler is a consistent hater of those with different political views. This is not to say that nobody on the right ever spews hatred for the left, but consider how dignified conservatives were at the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. That's the camp in which I'd rather be a member.
