Nice Gun stops Nasty Gun at restaurant shooting--man with nasty gun dead

Oklahoma City -- a man with a gun "opened fire" Thursday in an Oklahoma restaurant and shot four people. Another man, a bystander with a legal firearm, ended the apparent carnage by shooting the shooter dead, police said.

The gunfire began around 6:30 p.m. local time at Louie's on the Lake [not to be confused with Sloppy Louis by Pier 17 in Manhattan--I recommend the latter but you need to accept that the waiters are going to be nasty as per their schtick].

The yet-to-be identified shooter entered the establishment and opened fire for no apparent reason. The police said that he "was apparently shot-to-death by an armed citizen" outside the restaurant and there was no indication of terrorism, but they had to mention that because that's the first thing you think about when their doesn't seem to be a reason other than religious jihad.

Last month, there was another shooting in Tennessee in which a suspect opened fire at a Waffle House, killing four people. A man inside the Waffle House confronted the shooter and disarmed him. He ran like a cat on fire but was arrested the following day.

In this shooting, two people were hospitalized and are expected to survive.

The only confirmed fatality is the shooter, police reported.

It's also not known whether the shooter knew his victims, but if he didn't, you can bet his first or last name starts with a consonant, quite likely the 13th letter in the alphabet.

A other and daughter, described by law enforcement as "innocent customers" who were there for a birthday celebration, were shot, according to a KOCO reporter.

David Holt, Oklahoma City's Mayor, tweeted that he is "in touch with the City Manager & the Police Chief" and "as OCPD has reported, the suspect is dead."

Ironically, a nice gun saved further tragedy from a nasty gun.
