Relax and break out that sunscreen. President Trump is planning to reverse the designation of climate change and no longer view it as one of the national security threats the world faces. The National Security Strategy is to be released on Monday and instead of scaring Americans, it will emphasize intelligent planning of economic development with environmental protection.
What a novel concept.
"Climate policies will continue to shape the global energy system," a draft of the National Security Strategy said. "U.S. leadership is indispensable to countering an anti-growth, energy agenda that is detrimental to U.S. economic and energy security interests. Given future global energy demand, much of the developing world will require fossil fuels, as well as other forms of energy, to power their economies and lift their people out of poverty."
Former failed President Obama regulated us up the wahzoo over climate change and just about every other area of life, and his National Security Strategy released in 2015 stated: "[W]e are working toward an ambitious new global climate change agreement to shape standards for prevention, preparedness, and response over the next decade."
But here's the fun part of Obama's insanity: "In some ways, [climate change] is akin to the problem of terrorism and ISIL," he said at the Paris climate bloviating in 2015. During a weekly [and weakly] address Obama said, "Today, there is no greater threat to our planet than climate change."
And, for a guy who is protected by armed security 24/7, has a protective bunker in case ISIL (aka ISIS; aka Islamic State) tries to be more of a threat to him than forgetting his sunscreen, then he's telling the truth, but only as far as he's concerned.
In September of last year, former President Obama released a memorandum that required federal agencies to consider the effects of climate change in the development of national security-related policies, plans and doctrine, mainly to take the focus off of Islamic terrorists and stick our heads in the ground pretending that the sky is falling.
Obama's ridiculous thinking alarmed the security community and critics who kind of thought that the real security risks were being avoided.
What suicidal idiocy.
