Cleveland -- Jamal Mansour, father of seven, is now a father of six after killing his youngest daughter for "disrespecting" him because she refused to clean her room. He pleaded guilty to the "honor killing" and cried like a baby in court.
Mansour, a 64-year-old Muslim from Cleveland shot his daughter, Tahani, a 27-year-old pharmacist, while she slept in the family home. One shot was into the side of her pretty face, and the other in back of her head.
Tahani and her father constantly argued over her messy room and the late nights she kept. She had an infidel boyfriend whom she kept a secret from her religious Muslim father, correctly fearing the consequences of what he would do if she told him.
"When she was with him, she had to pretend like she was with other people. She was worried about what would happen if he found out," said County Prosecutor Andrew Rogalski.
If Jamal killed her for a messy room, imagine what he would have done if he did, indeed, discover she had a non-Muslim boyfriend. He might have killed them both.
Before the "honor killing" when Jamal was on a trip abroad, Tahani hadn't slept at home and Jamal found out.
On the night of the shooting, Tahani came home after midnight and the two had argued. She reportedly "brushed him off" and went to bed and it was then Mansour took a hand gun (which he carried when making band deposits for his business) and went into his daughter's room.
"If she doesn't respect me, then she'll respect this," he later told police.
Mansour pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison but may get out before that for not killing anyone else in prison.
Statistics in 2015 estimates 23 to 27 occur in the U.S. annually and of those, 90 percent are committed by Muslims against Muslim women. The reason for the "honor killings" is overwhelmingly due to the women becoming "too Westernized."
So why do the perpetrators want to live in the West?
Mansour cried in the courtroom like a baby, asking for forgiveness and pretending he wished that he were the one dead.
Honor killings is a growing problem in the United States and we will very likely see more of them as our Muslim population grows. I don't mean that in an anti-Islamic way--I'm simply basing it on observable facts.
