It isn't good when you're on trial for corruption charges as a congressional representative of your district. It's even worse when the investigation discovers your campaign committee spent thousands on hotels and travel expenses after you were beaten in the Democratic primary.
Former Rep. Corrine Brown (Duh-Fla.) is that Democrat. She lost to former Sen. Al Lawson (D-Fla.) in August last year and spent $11,278 for "lodging" at the Marriot Hotel in Bethesda, Md. in September 2016, about a month after the election for which she received the campaign donations--not "lodging donations."
There were also three "petty cash" transactions totaling over $2,000 between Oct. 16th and Nov. 4th, not to mention the tiny sum of a mere $185 on travel expenses in Houston, Texas and Jacksonville, Florida.
It's how she rolls.
