Happy Hour in Ukraine

Former KGB thug and current Russian president, Vladimir Putin (no, Putin is not a Spanish name) has asked his parliament for permission to use the military in Ukraine, ostensibly to protect ethnic Russians and military personnel based in the Crimea. This request flies in the face of president Obama who whipped out his Etch-a-Sketch once more, and warned Putin that if he goes ahead with his military plans, this will upset him a lot and he just might warn him again.

Obama said that "there will be costs," if Putin goes ahead, and Putin mumbled, "I can afford it because you're s**t is weak."

Sergei Aksenov, the head of the main pro-Russian party on the Crimean peninsula, was allegedly the guy who asked for Putin's "help."

Overnight, a bunch of unidentified gunmen sent by Kiev tried to seize the Interior Ministry offices of the Crimea and in some people were injured in the kerfuffle. Ukrainian border ships were put on combat ready status in the Crimea region. As you probably know, Russian troops invaded the Crimea region when Obama announced "happy hour," at a Democratic fund raiser on Friday. This is how our fearless leader responds to foreign threats to freedom--he changes the subject.

Arseny Yatsenyuk (a.k.a. "Arse") Ukraine's Prime Minister, called upon Russia to not provoke discord in the Crimea. His words fell on totalitarian ears.

The Yatsenyuk Look
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Obama said the obvious, telling the world that the U.S. government is "deeply concerned" by reports of Russian "military movement" and warned nobody in particular that any violation of Ukraine's sovereignty would be "deeply destabilizing." I suspect that this was why he was "deeply concerned."

Let's just hope the Obama administration does not get its way with military cuts. Doing that is akin to using gun control to ensure the bad guys will leave you alone.
