White House Blexit under Biden: a mass exit of black staffers, some with workplace issues

"If you don't vote for me, then you ain't Black"Joe

No less than 21 black staffers have jumped ship since 2021 and have left the White House or plan to leave, according to Politico.

The staffers who have already left the Biden administration say poor workplace culture is the main reason, as Politico states.

Some nine current and former black White House staffers say they are hamstrung by a work environment where they're treated like outsiders, and are excluded from making decisions and are denied chances of advancement. It's almost as if the administration only hired black staffers as background decoration to show their inclusiveness.

“We’re here and we’re doing a lot of work but we’re not decision-makers and there’s no real path towards becoming decision-makers,” one anonymous official said. “There is no real feedback and there’s no clear path to any kind of promotions.”

Those officials who spoke about the situation described a culture of elitism and cliques at the highest levels of administration staff.

“People have not had the best experiences and a lot of that has to do with the dearth of black leadership,” one black former White House official said.

The exodus of black staffers has even been referred to as “Blaxit” by insiders, according to a government personnel analyst, but Brain Flushings calls it "Blexit" in honor of Candace Owens' term referring to black folks who left the Democratic Party for the GOP.

“I have heard about an exodus of black staffers from the White House — ‘Blaxit’ — and I am concerned,” said Spencer Overton, president of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies.

“Black voters accounted for 22 percent of President Biden’s voters in November 2020. But it's beginning to look as if they are realizing who the Democrats really are.

“It is essential that black staffers are not only recruited to serve in senior, mid-level and junior White House positions, but are also included in major policy and personnel decisions and have opportunities for advancement.”

Except they're not.

Biden’s approval with black voters has declined to 69 percent, according to a Compromised News Network's (CNN) poll conducted in January and February.
