Strike Two for AirAsia

Well, it happened again, but thankfully nobody was injured or killed. An AirAsia flight with 159 passengers overshot the runway trying to land in windy weather from Manila.

Emergency slides were launched and passengers had fun sliding to safety after thinking they were all going to die.

The debacle took place in the town of Kalibo in Aklan province, said Giovanni Hontomin, the person in charge of AirAsia Zest's operations. The A320-200 came to rest on a grassy knoll and there were no immediate reports of injury or whiplash as there were no smart lawyers to be found in the resort town.

AirAsia Zest is partially owned by AirAsia Philippines and is not affiliated with the soap company that bears part of its name.
