A dentist in southern California was murdered for the crime of being Jewish while alive. The suspect in the anti-Semitic crime is a 29-year-old man whose first name is Mohammed [I will not supply his full name]. He also allegedly shot two other people who survived Mo's attempted 'hat trick.' They are listed in serious but stable condition.
Dr. Benjamin Harouni was shot and killed late Thursday afternoon at his SmilePlus Dentistry practice near San Diego.
El Cajon PD said Mohammed fled the scene in a white U-Haul pickup truck, but he was apprehended several hours later after being spotted by a citizen who alerted the police. He was taken into custody without incident and was found to be armed with a loaded handgun and several handgun magazines. Mohammed had purchased the guns legally just two weeks prior to his jihad against Jewish people.
The coward was charged with multiple felonies, including one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder. He was booked into the San Diego County Central Jail and it's possible there will be more counts forthcoming, police say.
“The El Cajon Police Department mourns with the family and friends of the deceased victim and extends heartfelt condolences to those injured in yesterday’s senseless and evil act of violence,” Chief of Police Mike Moulton said. “I would like to extend my gratitude to our local, state, and national law enforcement partners who assisted us during this tragic [anti-Semitic] event.”
Moulton said that federal law enforcement officials were involved in the investigation, including the FBI, U.S. Marshall’s Service Fugitive Task Force, and numerous local law enforcement agencies.
On social media, there were widespread calls for law enforcement to investigate the murder as a hate crime, but it seems that lately when crimes are committed against Jews, it's considered to be retribution for Israel fighting back after being attacked.
