Malaysian Flight MH 370

Malaysian officials are checking the CCTV footage at Kuala Lumpur's international airport and are questioning immigration officials and guards over the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight MH370. The plane went off the radar Saturday with 239 people on board. Two oil slicks were spotted off the southern tip of Vietnam but there is no absolute confirmation that these slicks were related to the missing plane.

Here is what we know: there were two passengers using stolen passports and two other passengers with European passports and might have been Ukrainian. The immigration officers who allowed these people to board the plane are being questioned. It is very possible that a security breach had occurred. The plane, a Boeing 777 is reported to be one of the safest commercial planes in current use.

Malaysian Prime Minister, Najib Razak, said that Malaysian airport security protocols are being reviewed (but that's like closing the barn door after the horses ran off). 

When investigators were asked if they believed foul play was the cause of this apparent loss, they seemed to believe it was, but made it clear that there is no definitive answer as yet.

A Uighur link may be involved as they were a week ago when more than ten Uighur Muslims went on a knife-wielding killing spree in Kunming, China. Twenty-nine innocent people were slaughtered for jihad and scores were seriously injured. I am not saying that this is what happened with the aircraft. But if this turns out to be an act of terrorism, I would not be surprised.

Perhaps it's time for airport security personnel to take a close look at how Israel does it. Their planes have not been taken down by terrorists because they do security the right way: they profile and spend enough time with each passenger prior to boarding. They know how to interpret body-language clues and other "tells" that warn of imminent danger.
