While Ukraine is under siege by Russia and not just the military but civilian men, women and children are dying, and others flee the country for their safety, the more important issue in the world is much closer to home.
According to Vice President Kamala Hahaharris, Congress needs to pass the Equality Act because giving all Americans equal opportunity as is already written in the U.S. Constitution, just isn't enough.
"Let’s send the Equality Act to President Biden’s desk. We must increase protections for LGBTQ+ Americans across the country. The onslaught of state bills targeting transgender Americans and their families is wrong," Hahaharris wrote without specifying exactly how state bills target any one group.

It's comforting to know that the person a heartbeat away from the presidency has our most important priority clearly in focus. All this "Russia attacks Kyiv," "Russia attacks Kviv," Russia attacks the largest nuclear facility in Europe is boring. We need to have a conversation, as Democrats love to say, about the important issues.
Meanwhile Russian forces attacked the Zaporizhzhya [pronounced "Zaporaszlfkasekjf"] nuclear plant in southern Ukraine and have taken it over. But who are we kidding? What is more important: a possible nuclear war, or the misuse of someone's pronouns?
The answer should be obvious, and now you can refer to me as "Zhrz."
Some people were not happy with Hahaharris and her refusal to be dissuaded from dealing with the more important LGBTQ issues of equality, equity and the American way and took to social media to tell her what they thought of her priorities.
"America: inflation is screwing us, our border is lawless, and there’s a ground war in Europe. Kamala: we need to get men in women’s sports asap," Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) wrote.
"What a luxury that we can be focused on pronouns during a time like this," another critic tweeted.
It seems as though some Americans just don't appreciate how important it is to have at least one gay or lesbian couple, or perhaps an aromantic, demisexual, gender fluid, queer leery thingamabob on every tv show or movie.

Now how the entertainment industry plans to fit that into future shows about the Ukraine invasion is anybody's guess.
